I look back on these words which I wrote 8 years ago, and I'm gratified to find that they are not as true as they were then. I HAVE been transformed by my yoga practice, even if I've never had an intense epiphany or kundalini rising or enlightenment experience. What I've acquired -- not acquired, what I have grown into is a trust in the world at a level deeper than thought. I am more comfortable in my own skin, less afraid of death, more grounded in a perspective that the Universe knows what it is doing.

Sometimes, perhaps, it is good to satisfy ourselves with looking at the hand with outstretched index finger and its presence in our touchable space and save the luminous orb of the moon shining far beyond our reach for another moment in our stream of awareness. Can we embrace both the yearning for the destination that fuels our journey and the delight of moving forward on the path in the present moment at the same time? I aspire to that happy balance. I can write about it at least. Even better is being on that path with kindred spirits who also aspire and write!
